The Connections Project

THE CONNECTIONS PROJECT

Since the guitar beat of João Gilberto and the harmonies and compositions of Tom Jobim had lauched the Bossa Nova in the late 50’s, the Brazilian music has conquered the world. Far beyond the market the musicians had been attracted by that music style, a perfect mix of jazz and the Brazilian rhythm. Jazz stars had been including the Brazilian music in their portfolio and many of them dream with the opportunity to work with Brazilian musicians. Some had succeeded. Others are still waiting for their chance.

From now on, this dream can come true with the Connection Project that aims to put together in the same stage American musicians playing Brazilian music with talented Brazilian musicians.

Connection is a project  by Pedro Simão, a Brazilian guitar player who has in his resume works with the Didier Lockwood Trio, the Thomas Claussen Quintet and much more.

The start

The Connection Project had its start last August with a concert by Pedro Simão and Adam Rogers playing compositions by Tom Jobim, Moacir Santos and Edu Lobo & Chico Buarque, amongst others.

The show must go on with other great guest stars.
